ACTPHAST will be present at this year's Photonic Integration Symposium on April 25, 2016 at Blauwe Zaal, TU Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In the symposium an overview will be given of recent developments in the world of photonic integration. The morning program covers a symposium on the achievements of seven projects that have been executed under the STW Perspectief Program “Generic Technologies in Integrated Photonics”. After lunch a number of prominent speakers will discuss progress and relevant developments in the field of Integrated Photonics, including Prof Francis Berghmans of B-Phot at VUB and Vice-Coordinator of ACTPHAST, who will provide a presentation on the goals and latest results of ACTPHAST in accelerating photonics innovation across European SMEs - see overview here.
In the second afternoon session, an overview of industrial activities in the Netherlands will be given. Eight different companies will give a brief overview of their activities in short (5 minute) pitches. In the last session an overview of the Integrated Photonics activities in the Netherlands and the Eindhoven region will be given and the foundation of an Integrated Photonics Institute by TU/e will be announced. The symposium will be concluded with a networking reception with food and drinks.
